Hardware Overview¶
An IRIS measurement system can be divided into several main components:
- A source loudspeaker, for exciting the room
- A receiver microphone, for recording the impulse response
- An audio Interface, to stream audio signals in and out of a computer.
- A computer running IRIS software
Most of the hardware required to make 3D impulse response measurements is available in a prepackaged IRIS Kit. Details of the individual components are provided if you wish to purchase your own equipment.
A simplified schematic for a Revision 1 or 2 IRIS kit is illustrated below:
